Our Commitment

D2X Coaching is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people involved in our sessions.

We believe that all players have the right to:

  • Be safe and protected from harm

  • Be treated with respect and dignity

  • Enjoy football in a positive, supportive environment

Safeguarding Principles

D2X Coaching will:

  • Put the welfare of the child first at all times

  • Create a safe and inclusive environment

  • Promote positive behaviour and respect

  • Act promptly on any safeguarding concerns

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The lead coach is responsible for safeguarding within D2X Coaching.

  • Appropriate safeguarding training and checks are held where required.

  • All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and acted upon appropriately.

(A named Safeguarding Lead can be added here if required.)

Insurance & Risk Management

  • D2X Coaching holds appropriate insurance cover for all coaching activities.

  • This includes public liability insurance and any other cover required for grassroots football coaching.

  • Risk assessments are carried out where appropriate to help ensure a safe training environment.

  • Equipment and facilities are checked regularly for safety.

Recognising Concerns

Safeguarding concerns may include:

  • Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse

  • Neglect

  • Bullying or harassment

  • Inappropriate behaviour or language

Concerns may be raised by:

  • Players

  • Parents/carers

  • Coaches

Reporting Concerns

  • Any safeguarding or welfare concerns should be reported as soon as possible.

  • Concerns will be handled sensitively and confidentially.

  • Where necessary, concerns will be referred to the appropriate safeguarding authorities.

If a child is believed to be at immediate risk of harm, emergency services will be contacted.

Good Practice Guidelines

D2X Coaching promotes:

  • Positive role modelling

  • Clear professional boundaries

  • Appropriate language and behaviour

  • A culture where players feel safe to speak

Physical contact will only occur when necessary for safety or coaching purposes and will always be appropriate, minimal, and explained.

Photography & Media

  • Photos or videos may be taken for coaching or promotional purposes.

  • Consent will be obtained where required.

  • Parents/carers may request that their child does not appear in media content.

Online Safety

  • Online platforms, including the parent development portal, are used responsibly.

  • Information shared is confidential and intended to support player development only.

Review & Updates

This Safeguarding & Welfare Policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains appropriate and effective.

By signing up to D2X Coaching, parents/carers and players acknowledge and agree to this Safeguarding & Welfare Policy.
